New England or Bust!It’s no secret, folks. GLAD, Gay and Lesbian Alliance and Defenders, has set up a campaign to get all of New England’s states to legalize same-sex marriages by the year 2012. Well, turns out that on June 3rd their work just got a little easier. New Hampshire approved of a marriage equality bill and in my opinion it’s the best one, yet. At first, when the house and senate approved of same-sex marriage the governor vetoed the bill because it did not include protections for religious groups that don’t approve of same-sex couples getting married. After changing one or two words then adding a sentence, the bill was put up to revote twice and won. The governor signed the marriage equality bill and guaranteed equal rights for same-sex couples and separation of church and state. |
